Students get a taste of life at Cambridge University

A GROUP of school students from Weston-super-Mare have experienced life at one of the world’s most prestigious universities.

A total of 20 year 12 students from North Somerset Enterprise and Technology College (NSETC) visited Cambridge University on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th March.

NSETC’s Head of Year 12, Ruth Davies, took the students on the residential taster. She said: “They stayed in student accommodation at Trinity Hall and received tours by current Cambridge students.

“They also attended a taster lecture from Dr Andrew Murray from the Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience, on ‘Life at the Limits: The Physiology of Extremes’.”

Students were also given advice and guidance on writing personal statements and general Oxbridge applications.

Ellie Davey, 17, went on the visit, and said: “This trip helped me to understand potential opportunities for the future.”

Student Kaleb Tuck, 16, described it as “very informative” and Nabeel Uddin, 17, said it was “amazing to experience life as a university student.”
