North Somerset Enterprise and Technology College (NSETC) held a successful STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) careers fair and open evening last week at its new multi-million pound purpose-built campus.
The event provided prospective students a chance to see the recently-opened facilities at the Beaufighter Road site, and current students the opportunity to meet and network with potential employers.
Major STEM companies exhibited at the event, including Rolls-Royce, GKN Aerospace and Airbus.
However the event didn’t just focus on employers, with several universities in attendance, including University Centre Weston.
Darran George, Interim Principal, said: “NSETC has strong STEM and employability themes running through all curriculum pathways. Our goal is to develop learners employability skills alongside their academic study.
“Combining the careers fair with our open evening was a good way to inspire our future learners to start thinking about career paths in the STEM industries.”
Three students also ran a charity cake sale as part of their business project, raising money for mental health charity YoungMinds.
