Enterprise day held at North Somerset primary school

SCHOOLCHILDREN from one North Somerset primary school pitched their ideas for their very own Roman museum in a Dragons Den-style event.

Winscombe Primary School, in Moorham Road, welcomed staff from North Somerset Enterprise and Technology College (NSETC) and Weston Museum as part of an Enterprise Day on Thursday 5th May.

NSETC’s Business Development Coordinator Emma Cox said: “Year 3 have been studying Romans in their curriculum and they were asked to create their own Roman museum as part of an enterprise day.

“They spent the morning discussing ideas and at the end of the day they pitched their Roman museum idea to a panel of dragons.

“We have been lucky to have Katherine Bell from Weston Museum join us, she has brought in all kinds of Roman artefacts and spoken to the children about what it’s like running a museum.”
