Bristol Futures Academy
Bristol Futures Academy (BFA) is based in the Barton Hill area of Bristol, an area of high deprivation and social need. It is an alternative provision free school which opened in September 2016.
BFA aims to be an outstanding provider for students in years 9, 10 and 11 who find mainstream provision challenging for a variety of reasons.
The academy uses a specialist delivery model developed with the Trust and its sponsor, Weston College, over many years. It provides personalised, flexible and innovative programmes of study centred on the needs of each individual student. It enables students to overcome barriers to learning, equipping them with skills needed for success and enabling their re-integration into mainstream provision or onward progression.
BFA believes all young people are entitled to an inspiring and engaging education which will enable them to achieve meaningful futures, in terms of careers, personal independence and an ability to make a positive contribution to society.
BFA adopts an inclusive, preventative, proactive and personalised approach to learning. It works in partnership with other schools, Bristol City Council, parents, carers and local employers to inspire and motivate students to exceed expectations and be ambitious for their futures.
BFA is an empowering alternative provision which will provide a forward-looking and innovative approach to all aspects of learning.
